Every player on court at this tournament started the same way: picking up a paddle without really knowing what to do with it.
That is the whole point of Unleash the Rising Beast, the pickleball tournament from KRP Rising Player and MDLBEAST Radio. It is a stage built for the players who came in as beginners and trained their way into competitors.
From first serve to first tournament
Kabayan Riyadh Pickleball, known as KRP, is one of the most active pickleball clubs in Riyadh, and it has made its name on the part of the sport most clubs skip: the beginning.
Beginner sessions, structured training, drills on repeat, and open play every week. Players who arrived learning how to serve and return are now reading rallies, working as a team and playing with intent. Some are fast becoming names to watch in the city’s pickleball scene.
They came in as beginners. They trained as learners. This tournament is where they show up as competitors.
How it plays
The format is built to reward the work.
- Round robin. Every team plays every other team in its group.
- Games to 15, win by 2.
- Fixed partnerships. You start with your partner and you finish with your partner.
- Every player gets three games, so nobody travels to the court to watch.
- The umpire’s call is final. No challenges, no arguments.
Teams are ranked on total games won, then head to head, then point difference if three teams finish level.
Respect is in the rulebook
One rule says more about KRP than any other. Paddle taps are mandatory, before and after every game, whatever the result.
The tournament’s own line puts it best: rivalry stays on the court, respect stays beyond the game.
Where MDLBEAST Radio comes in
Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in Riyadh, and the people driving it are building a community as much as a scene: regulars, newcomers, families, friends who turned up once and never left.
That is exactly the kind of community MDLBEAST Radio wants to be part of. Sport and music run on the same energy, and putting them in one place turns a tournament into a day out. The goal is simple: back the people building something in the Kingdom, and help them take it to the next level.
Ready to rise
The training sessions are done and the partnerships are set. For KRP’s rising players, this is the moment to show how far they have come, and how much further they can go.
Play. People. Progress. Sport. Music. Community.
