InterviewJafar Amin Wrote Belzat About A Real Girl. He Hopes She Isn’t Watching.
His first single with MDLBEAST Records is a true story. In our studio, he told Ninyaz which of his songs aren't.
Watch the videoJafar Amin walked into the MDLBEAST Radio studio and greeted Ninyaz in a register about two octaves higher than anyone was braced for, which set the tone for everything after it.
“I didn’t expect that high,” she told him. “But hey, I love it.”
Here is what we got between the falsetto and the Michael Jackson impression.
The new one actually happened
Belzat (بالذات), out since August, is his first release with MDLBEAST Records, the label he earned by winning XPERFORM 2025. The song is about being in love in your final year of school, and Ninyaz wanted to know whether there was a real story behind it.
There was. It is his.
“That’s straight up my experience.”
Then, immediately, the thought that trails every songwriter who has ever done that.
“That girl has a life. I hope she’s not watching.”
The one that fooled everybody

Amin writes from both sides, the lived and the invented, and he is happy to tell you which is which.
“Most of my songs are like real experiences or stories. Sometimes it becomes straight up imaginary.”
So Ninyaz asked the better question. Name a song people were certain was real.
He gave up “Anisini” (آنسيني) without much of a fight.
“Even when you listen to it, it sounds like, you feel me? Like the feeling of it. But the actual story and idea, it wasn’t an actual thing that was happening.”
A bigger project, and nobody else on it
Belzat is not a one-off. There is a larger project in progress, and when Ninyaz went fishing for features, having noticed him turning up around other artists lately, he closed that door politely.
“The specific project, no, it doesn’t have features.”
As for timing, he was going straight from our studio back to his own to finish it. Asked how long a working day runs, he put it at sixteen hours.
“That girl has a life. I hope she’s not watching.”
He sang. Twice.
He played a piece of the unreleased track live in the studio, then stopped before the end on purpose, because the rest is meant to be a surprise.
Then, unprompted, “The Night We Met.”
“I think this is my favorite song.”
Ninyaz floated a Jafar Amin and Jafar Jackson collaboration, on the reasonable grounds that all the Jacksons can sing. Amin countered with a claim of his own.
“I think I make a really good Michael Jackson impression.”
He was invited to prove it. He proved it. We are keeping that one for another day.
Belzat by Jafar Amin is out now and in rotation on MDLBEAST Radio. Tune in across the Kingdom on 104.8 Riyadh, 98.1 Jeddah, 97.4 Dammam and 87.6 Abha, or listen live at mdlbeastradio.com.
